Dr Links’ is a South African researcher whose work is focused on the nexus of critical international relations, critical human rights scholarship, and foreign policy. Currently, she is a lecturer at the Leiden Institute for Area Studies (LIAS), where she teaches a unique course titled “‘China-Africa Relations in a Changing Global Order.” Dr Link’s research at the Leiden Asia Centre focuses on China-Africa relations in European policymaking. She is on the editorial board of the cross-cultural human rights review. Informed by postcolonial and decolonial insights, her work focuses on how South-South cooperation presents an alternative model to tackling regional and global challenges and (re)inserting African perspectives and voices in global policymaking. Previously, Dr Links worked in human rights and development in South Africa, Ghana, Senegal, Haiti, and The Netherlands. She is a two-time recipient of the Nelson Mandela Scholarship. She holds a PhD from Utrecht University, a Masters from the University of Leiden and an undergraduate degree from the University of Stellenbosch.
