Serwah Prempeh
Senior Fellow and Head, Green Technologies Program

Serwah Prempeh is the Senior Fellow and Head of the Just Green Technology Transition Programme. In my role, I lead the strategic thought leadership and engagements that align African technology innovation priorities with its development priorities and global climate goals. The programme also focuses on bridging Africa–Germany–EU relations on just green technology innovation and development.

Over the past decade, my work has centred on designing and implementing multi-year research projects that examine the dynamics, politics and nature of governance frameworks and actor networks within innovation ecosystems. This work aims to redefine Africa's position in the global green economy and integrate African expertise into global innovation systems.

Before joining APRI, I was a Junior Fellow at the Bayreuth International Graduate School of African Studies (BIGSAS), where I earned my PhD in Culture and Technology in Africa. I previously managed policy research and analysis for the Australian High Commission in Ghana, covering Ghana, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. I also hold an MPhil in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge.
