Mourice Kausya is a Research Associate at Nuvoni Centre for Innovation Research (NCIR), which hosts the International Centre for Frugal Innovation (ICFI) Kenya Hub. He is an economist and energy researcher focusing on clean cooking, energy access and inclusive transitions, especially in urban informal settlements and off-grid systems. Mourice has influenced Kenya's national clean cooking and energy policies and contributes to research and policymaking that integrate evidence into energy planning. His work uses quantitative, qualitative and systems thinking methods, along with field research, energy demand modelling and analysis of gender, equality, disability and social inclusion in energy access. He has a Bachelor’s in Economics from the University of Nairobi and is pursuing a Master’s in Economics at Kenyatta University.
