Rob Davies
Rob Davies retired in 2019 after serving for a decade as South Africa’s Minister of Trade and Industry. He was elected as a Member of Parliament in the first democratic election in 1994. Before that he held a professorship at the University of the Western Cape and was professor auxiliar at Eduardo Mondlane University in Maputo, Mozambique between 1979 and 1990. Rob Davies holds a doctorate from the University of Sussex. His most recent book, Towards a New Deal: A Political Economy of the Times of my Life, was published by Jonathan Ball in 2021.
