Olumide Damilola Onitekun

Olumide serves as a Research Assistant for the project ‘Methane Mitigation and Reduction in the Oil and Gas Sectors: Challenges and Opportunities in Nigeria under the Climate Change program.’ With over 5 years of cross-sectoral work experience, he is a skilled research economist and seasoned public policy expert.

He is experienced in leading research teams, providing technical support, and providing actionable policy advice to senior figures in both the public and private sectors. His distinctive research capabilities have shaped both academic and industry publications.

He has co-authored academic paper on critical subjects such as human capital, investment, and trade policy. In industry research, Olumide has significantly contributed to developing advocacy papers related to climate mitigation and adaptation in Nigeria, the formulation of a climate financing strategy for Nigeria's infrastructure development, and the design of Nigeria's national development plan for the period 2021-2025.


Olumide’s key strengths are in economic research; policy and strategy formulation; proposal development; and project and programme design, management, and implementation.
