Currently founder and CEO of Just Results, a company that uses data to support inclusive economic growth, Lara is an economist with specialization in regulatory reform and digital solutions for government. Her almost thirty years’ experience began in Latin America, with the preparation of loans, grants, and quasi-equity investments in microfinance and agricultural marketing cooperatives. Her subsequent work included a position as advisor to the National Development Bank of Brazil (BNDES). This led to a focus on regulatory and administrative simplification, using as a key benchmark the Ease of Doing Business index used at the time. In Morocco, she oversaw the development of a pioneering software called e-invest, which was the predecessor of the globally known eRegulations system, used as the blueprint for trade information portals in 24+ countries around the world.
