Dr. Grieve Chelwa is the director of research at the Institute on Race, Power and Political Economy at The New School. Prior to joining the Institute, Dr. Chelwa was a Senior Lecturer at the Graduate School of Business at the University of Cape Town. He has previously held postdoctoral fellowships at Harvard University and the University of the Witwatersrand. Dr. Chelwa is a frequent commentator on current events and his opinions have appeared in the New York Times, Washington Post, BBC, NPR and Bloomberg among others. He tweets at @gchelwa.
