Britta is the Lead Researcher for the project in South Africa. She is a senior researcher at the African Climate and Development Initiative (ACDI) at the University of Cape Town. Her work focuses on climate policy and technology in developing countries and the links between inequality, energy and climate change. She has published various papers and book chapters on the overall question of integrating policies on emissions reductions, energy supply and development in South Africa, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico and Germany. She has ten years of international experience in sustainable development research, teaching and consulting. She holds a PhD in Political Science.
