Research Assistant

Issa SARR is a research assistant for the project “Climate Adaptation Strategies and Initiatives: Issues and Pathways in Senegal”. Issa is a specialist in rural economics with over six years of experience in local development. Issa is an environmentalist and specialist in inclusive green economy, renewable energy, sustainable development and climate change development with over four years of experience in combating climate change and promoting low-carbon development. He has skills in project management, project monitoring and evaluation, environmental economics, action research on mainstreaming environment in development projects at the local level, Climate change (mitigation, adaptation, loss and damage); Energy policies (renewable energy, energy mix, bioenergy); Environmental economics; Green economy; Assessment of economic losses due to climate change; Sustainable development.

Issa is both an Environmentalist and economist, He is the Coordinator of the Scientific Committee of the Research and Competence Development Unit in Inclusive Green Economy (URDCEVI) at the Institute of Environmental Sciences of the Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar (UCAD), He is a Project Assistant at ENDA NERGIE. He holds a Master's degree in Environmental Sciences and a Master's degree in Economics, particularly in rural economics. He worked at ENDA Energie as a Research Assistant, with the mission to study the consideration of local content in renewable energy projects in Senegal, more specifically on solar photovoltaic plants. He has participated in several study reports. He has the ability to work in a team, individually, and under pressure. He also has an analytical mind and good communication skills in both French and English.
