Background
Together with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, APRI is organizing an event to discuss the potential implications and opportunities the European Green Deal entails for the African private sector. The event will include a panel discussion that takes as a point of departure a presentation of the key findings of the new policy brief. The findings will be presented by Alexander Demissie of AfricaRising, who co-authored the paper.
The panel discussion brings together experts to identify sectors and provisions providing the best opportunities for African private sector stakeholders - as well as explore how both the EU and African companies can work together to unlock mutual benefits of the private sector components of the EU Green Deal. Furthermore, the speakers will shed light on partnership development opportunities within the EGD that can be actively utilized by African private sector stakeholders to advance sustainability and climate action in African countries, including opportunities for knowledge, skills, and technology transfer.
