This year's UN climate conference COP 27 is taking place in Egypt under the motto "Together for Implementation". This time the COP places a special focus on the African continent and the associated climate and energy issues. Raising the national climate targets, dealing with climate-related failures and damage, and the issue of climate finance are the focus of the negotiations. For African stakeholders, questions about climate finance and the delayed provision of funds for climate protection are particularly important.
Together with Dr. Grace Mbungu, Senior Fellow and Head of Climate Change Program, Africa Policy Research Institute, Ndiarka Mbodji, Founder and CEO, Kowry Energy GmbH, and Oliver Rentschler, Head of the Department for Foreign Climate Policy, Economics and Technology, Federal Foreign Office, we want to discuss these questions, among others:
What is the Federal Government doing to support African states in climate finance? What expectations does the German government have of COP 27? How can climate policy goals be successfully achieved from the point of view of the private sector? And what are the demands and expectations of the COP 27 from an African point of view?
The event will take place in presence in Berlin.
