As part of its efforts to address climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, Nigeria has been focusing on methane mitigation in its oil and gas sector. This factsheet provides a summary of key strategies and initiatives aimed at reducing methane emissions in the sector. The factsheet is based on the landscape mapping conducted in APRI’s earlier publication titled 'Methane Mitigation and Reduction Mapping Report in Nigeria’s Oil and Gas Sector,' which provides an overview of methane mitigation and reduction efforts in Nigeria's oil and gas industry.
